 If we're gonna start a movement then we'd better start with a mission statement. at nice turtle.com our mission is to:
"Provide products and services that remind everyone in the world that they should love their neighbor as themselves and encourage the kind of love Jesus shows" Wow, if that sounds like a tall order, well... it is, but the rewards of such a world and the eternal reward for each individual are well worth the effort. There is a whole spinning blue and green ball of rock and water out there steeped in a self serving attitude and filled with people who posses "the world owes me this or the world owes me that" mentality and they all just need LOVE.
When you wear "nice turtle apparel" just think about what the little green guy on your chest is saying to the people around you and remember that Jesus loves EVERYONE from the most vile criminal to the nicest friendliest person you'll meet. So the message is literally for everyone!
When you are not wearing "nice turtle apparel" remember the same thing and just pretend your shirt says "You are a very special person and I love you just like Jesus does without prejudice and without concern for what you do, will do, or have done and I want you to know that!!!!"
That is how the movement will take place but it has to start in our hearts. In order for you to exhibit true love you have to put God in control of your life. To do that you need to know what he did for you in order to understand the gift of eternal life with God as opposed to eternal death without Him.
In the beginning God made man in his image and without any sin. God chose not to force man to love him because genuine love can never be forced. Man chose to disobey God and as a result became sinful and separated from God. God knew that man in his sinful nature would not be able to do anything to bridge the gap between man and God so he sent His only son Jesus to live in the flesh as a man and live a perfect life then he would be crucified as a sacrifice that would pay for the sins of all people who accept Him as their savior and choose to follow Him. This sacrifice bridged the gap between sinful man and the only Living Holy God.
Now that you know how much God loves you, if you accept Him then you will seek to love other people as you love yourself. If you were just nice to people all of the time and you never let Jesus be the lord of your life then it would be pointless because all of your good works would be wasted since salvation is the result of faith and not received by works.
So in reality that is where our mission starts, in helping the world understand God's love so they will share that love with the world. Let's get to it and start loving your neighbor.
